Guide to Catalonia News

Catalonia has also been in the news, with most news coverage focusing on the deal between Pedro Sanchez and Catalan party Junts, led by Carles Puigdemont, to grant amnesty to all those involved in 2017’s unauthorised independence referendum. This will ensure Sanchez retains power, but it has caused outrage amongst many Spanish, who see Puigdemont as an enemy of Spain.

Guide to Spain News

As for Spain, the Financial times reports on the sharp increase in tourists choosing the cooler north eastern regions of Spain (such as Galicia, Asturias or Cantabria) for their holidays and to buy property. If you’d prefer to visit other parts of Spain, Lonely Planet did an interesting piece on Murcia recently.

Elsewhere, several papers picked up news that Easyjet will restart its service from Luton to Reus and add a new one from Manchester. Reus is an airport which is only 45mins from Sitges. Both will start on 2 April and operate twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays throughout the summer.
