Event Description
Children’s Clothing Exchange Market Sitges & Repair of Household Appliances!
With the aim of promoting recycing of clothes, Sitges City Council is organizing the second edition of the Children’s Clothes Exchange Market, on Friday 22 November in the Esteve Barrachina School yard, from 4.30pm to 7pm, on the occasion of European Waste Prevention Week.
To make the Exchange Market a reality, families who wish to do so can drop off children’s clothing at their children’s school before November 20. This clothing must be in good condition, unstained and not underwear. This Market is designed for children’s clothes between 2 and 12 years old, which must be delivered to school in a bag containing a maximum of 20 pieces. The outside of the bag must be marked with the student’s name, which school they belong to, a contact phone number and how many items of clothing are included inside the bag. For each piece of clothing delivered, you will get a “Drap”, which will be the exchange currency that will be used in the market. The people who participate in the meeting can take as many pieces of clothing as they have brought to make the exchange. The “draps” will be delivered on the day of the activity in the Esteve Barrachina School yard.
Repair truck
The Market will also have the presence of the Reparatruck, which is a mobile self-repair service for small household appliances, IT devices and bicycles. The aim is to promote sustainability, protecting the planet from the accumulation of waste and reducing CO2 emissions. A specialist will be on hand all afternoon, with the right tools, to explain how to fix various appliances. To make use of this service, you must register in advance at cerclezero.cat .
In addition to this exchange market, Sitges has specific containers for the collection of clothes, since this waste has a specific recycling. Information and a map of the location of the 25 clothes containers distributed throughout Sitges can be consulted on the municipal website sitges.cat .
