Our History
The first edition of the Rally was held on 8 February 1959, with twenty cars.
At that time the road used by the rally, the old coastal road, was the only road linking Barcelona to Sitges. From the beginning, the organisation set a condition that vehicle occupants had to be dressed in a style reflecting the date of manufacture of their vehicle. The reason for this condition is that the rally was originally held around the same time as the Sitges Carnival. The rule was accepted by all participants with great enthusiasm, and this fun aspect of the rally continues to this day.
On arriving in Sitges, participants paraded along the Passeig de la Ribera up to La Fragata, where, as today, they were received by the town authorities and then parked their cars so the public could admire them.
The rally’s great success over the years has brought us to 2024, and the 66th edition. We look forward to seeing you there!
