Story details
The Linea Verda app, in its section dedicated to Sitges, has improved its accessibility, with the aim of resolving incidents detected by citizens on public roads more efficiently. From now on, when an incident is reported, you will be able to choose between 8 different areas, which will allow the notice to be sent more quickly to the right person to resolve it. These notifications are prioritised according to their severity and can now be categorised as Cleaning and Waste, Public Lighting, Playgrounds, Urban Furniture, Urban Pests, Beaches, Vandalism and Graffiti and Sidewalks and Pavements.
The councillor for Image and Public Transport, Cristina Guiu Navarro, explains that “Línia Verda is a very useful tool that we are now improving to continue providing a citizen service that detects irregular situations in the streets or squares of Sitges”. Councilor Guiu states that “90% of the complaints that we receive through the Línia Verda app are resolved. The remaining 10% are issues over which the City Council has no jurisdiction”.
The Línia Verda app is free and compatible with various smartphone systems. Once the person has registered and chosen the option dedicated to Sitges, they access six sections. The first is grouped under the title of “New Incident” and can be used to report irregularities on public roads and group them into the categories mentioned above. The message includes the possibility of writing comments and sending photographs, while geolocating the phone and giving the possibility of indicating the neighbourhood or area that you want to mention.
The second section of the app allows you to see the status of the incidents sent, while a third button is the “Processes” button and directs you to the Sitges City Council’s electronic headquarters. The fourth section is the Current Affairs button, which directs the user to the News section related to Waste and Street Cleaning, within the municipal website sitges.cat.
In a fifth section, “Contact” you can see the generic contact formulas for the Sitges City Council, such as the telephone, email and municipal website, as well as the main data of the company that develops the app. Finally, in the Settings button you can choose the municipality, the language or the option to receive notifications.
Beyond this application, the City Council also has a home collection service for bulky items and pruning . This option must be requested through the Sitges City Council website .
