The Festival ‘Creative Connexions Ireland: Sitges 2024‘ will hold its eleventh edition from 24 to 27 October to celebrate the meeting of Irish and Catalan culture. The event has established itself as one of the most important Irish music festivals in Europe and this year will bring together more than 60 professional Irish artists. The programme includes more than 50 performances of music, dance, workshops and talks by artists.
The aim of this festival is to create an artistic connection between the two cultures, with events that include both emerging and established artists, offering a rich and varied cultural experience. This year more than 220 young Irish artists will travel to Sitges as part of the presentation of young Irish musical talent together with other local talent.
The main stage of the eleventh edition of the festival will be the Casino Prado. In this space there will be 15 concerts with different styles and formats. This year’s artist line-up consists of Cathy Jordan, Simon Morgan, Brian Fleming, Maria-Doyle Kennedy, 1993 Eurovision winner Niamh Kavanag, Cormac de Barra, Matthew Berrill, Cormac Breathnach, Brendan Graham, Cathy Jordan , Feargal Murray, Joan Pinós and Jarrod Cagwin, the choir with over 50 singers COR Nua, No Crows, Coast 2 Coasts with artists Tim Doyle, Matthew Berrill, Simon Morgan and Richie Buckley.
The festival programme also highlights the parallel activities that will take place in different streets of the town, such as performances in various dedicated locations and the musical parade (Festival Parade) on Saturday 25 October between La Fragata and the Prado Gardens.
The organizers of Creative Connexions expect the arrival in Sitges this year of 2,000 Irish people, many of whom will extend their stay in the town until Tuesday 29 October due to the national holiday in their country. The festival is organized by Artscope and has the support of Culture Ireland, Sitges City Council, the Sitges City Council Tourism Department and the Irish Embassy in Madrid.
