El Pi Sant Pere de Ribes is defined by the following characteristics:
Public: Open to everyone and respectful of different ways of thinking.
Integrator: Ensures that all students have the same opportunities and that there is no discrimination based on sex, economic, social or cultural reasons.
Catalan: The Catalan language is the vehicular language at school. Teaching, therefore, is done in Catalan. It also ensures the teaching of the Spanish language following the regulations of the Department of Education.
The school ensures a non-discriminatory treatment of the two languages and tends to standardize the use of Catalan at school as a language of communication in both teaching and extracurricular and participatory activities. We understand that knowledge of the language is a basic guarantee of social cohesion in our country, and especially in our municipality. The concrete treatment of languages is developed in the Linguistic Project.
It considers education as an integral process for the student: Our school aims to educate children in solidarity, democratic coexistence and respect for fundamental rights and freedoms in order to achieve responsible people.
Pluralistic, secular and democratic : The school is ideologically pluralistic. This means respect for all ideologies and beliefs by trying to give the child information as objectively as possible so that he gradually forms his own criteria and by analyzing reality, he can make responsible decisions and, at the same time, rejecting and questioning intolerant and discriminatory attitudes and behaviors with the others.
Participative and cooperative: We promote a participatory regime in all areas of the educational community, cooperating in all those activities proposed: parties, municipal library, county council, commonwealth…
Fosters the spirit of solidarity and interculturalism: We educate for solidarity and cooperation, to learn to live together in diversity, open both to the closest cultures that live together in the area of the town, the region and the country and to cultures Generally. Co-educational: We understand co-education as a form of education that promotes equality without any discrimination based on gender or sexual orientation.
Methodological Line: We conceive of education as a comprehensive process, which develops taking into account the individual and social dimensions of the Child, which seeks the development and improvement of its physical, intellectual, social and affective capacities.
